This end grain cutting board is made of Padauk and hard Maple. Padauk has a very unique reddish orange color, and this exotic wood is sometimes referred to by the name Vermillion. The dramatic color will gradually darken to a deep reddish brown. Hard Maple may be considered the king of all the other species of Maple. Its wood is stronger, stiffer, harder, and denser than all of the other species of Maple that are commercially available.
